The Community Risk Reduction Division is comprised of three primary programs;
Code Enforcement – Conducts and coordinates fire and life safety inspections of new and existing properties, including review of site plans, building plans, and fire protection system plans for new or renovated structures.
Public Education & Information – Provides safety education and fire prevention information and materials to citizens through various programs and coordinates release of public information with the news media.
Investigations – Examine fire scenes to determine origin and cause of fires.
The Community Risk Reduction Division is considered an essential component in the overall fire protection effort for Beaumont Fire Rescue (BFR). A District Chief oversees the Community Risk Reduction Division and serves as the City’s Fire Marshal with two Captains serving as Program Managers. In addition, there are two driver/operators and two firefighters assigned to the Division. All Division personnel are certified as Firefighters and Fire Inspectors. Four of the personnel are also certified as Fire & Arson Investigators and Peace Officers. The Division is located in the Beaumont Fire Headquarters building at 400 Walnut.
